I agree with what someone above me said: depends on how bright and how big. If it's bold and noticable, then I would only use one or the other. Accesories should compliment, so be careful if it takes over your whole look. If you think it looks good and you like it--wear it! :)

It sounds tacky, but I wear matching earrings and necklaces all the time but only if they are neutral colors (gold, silver, browns). . . the colorful jewelry I don't try and match, too 70s.

I think matching earrings and necklaces are cute. It's not tacky at all. I think it's less tacky to have things match and more tacky if they don't match.

Only if the jewelry is tacky in the first place.
But you know if you like it, whatever.
Today I'm wearing Chuck Taylor sneakers and a cashmere sweater.

No, but when I was younger I used to have my left ear pierced with a hanging packet of Soya sauce. Came in real handy at the Chinese buffets...just tilt the head slightly over my bowl of rice, and away we go...them's good eats!

I don't know about most people, but I prefer to match my jewelry. I don't want to look like I threw on jewelry in the dark.
