For a few days, off and on, I doubled up on my bc pills. I missed a couple of my sugar pills too. I had a 3 day period that was kind of light, only real bleeding the middle day. I did have unprotected sex with my boyfriend. Is there a chance I could of gotten pregnant?

If you missed some days (and therefore had to double up), then sure, you could be pregnant (birth control is only 99% effective when taken as directed anyhow - and that's when you're taking it consistently).

The sugar pills do not matter. They're just that - sugar...placebos. They're used as a reminder of when you start your next pack - they have no contraceptive use whatsoever.

Next time you miss pills and have to double up, use a condom as back up.

In the meantime, yes, you could be pregnant.

Doubling up on birth control doesn't do anything extra, the pill doesn't carry over with an extra does. That is way it's very important that you take it everyday at the same time. Because it works with your bodies natural hormones, at best you are confusing your body by adding extra hormones, and not helping you chances at regular birth control.
If you had a short period it's likely because of the doubled dosed and it's very possible that you could be pregnant.
I would hold off on any more sex and any birth control pills until your next period. In the event that you are pregnant the birth control pills can cause damage to the embreo, and if you not pregnant it will give you body a chance to get back to the regular cycle before you start again.
So this might mean no sex for 60 days, or take the chance of a miscarriage or a birth defect.

The pill is meant to be taken every day at the same time, doubling up does not put it back in place. If you miss a few pills it DOES throw it off and can cause you to get pregnant if you had sex during that time. However the pill also causes lighter than normal periods and if you doubled up on your pills on certian days it could cause this.
If you are really worried go buy a test and take it.

yep...what u need to do is go to planned parenthood or a doctor somewhere and find out when u are most fertile, either before or after ur period. then let me just say that as a person who has had 3 abortions and 2 kids after that, u might wanna look into the mirena implant. i have a problem remembering to take pills(obviously), so i tried something that i dont have to deal with for yrs if i dont want to. it would help if u used a condom when u had sex, cause there is no form of birth control out there that is 100% effective, besides abstinence. also, if u or ur boyfriend has a job, invest in some morning after pills. they're over the counter now and good to have on hand. but dont go crazy and have unprotected sex and pop a pill in the morning all the time...get a calendar and keep track of ur ovulation days...take care of urself PLEASE. that body is the only one ur gonna get!!!

what do you mean you doubled up on your bc pills? you took double the dosage? missing sugar pills doesnt' matter - they are only there to ensure that you stay in the rhythm of taking a pill every day.

the pill is 99.9% effective WHEN TAKEN CORRECTLY. Many women do not take it correctly which lowers the efficacy of the pill. See the info pamphlet for more information on the correct way to use your pills.
