Of course...

Political parties should become a thing of the past

Breaking issues down, into only two categories is certainly one way to manipulate the masses. You have the freedom to choose, but you don't get to choose the questions/options.

Have you noticed that new legislation always comes with it's built in adversarial position? Example; the freedom of information act, was passed about the same time as the right to privacy act. Don't the two acts contradict themselves?

By the way, this is also the same technique that so called psychics use to get you to choose the number written on a piece of paper that's in their pocket. It's a very old trick.

The good news is, this country needs to be conquered, every four years, by peaceful means. The business of America is business, and the marketplace is revolution (peaceful)

No, because it's not the politicians that are using it. It's the extremists that are using it. Just as an example, moveon.org is a heavily financed, extreme left wing organization. Because of their financial power and their perceived ability to help or hinder democratic candidates, they have the power to influence many democrats to do much of what they want them to do. When the democrats act in accordance with moveon's wishes, their actions, as a result, match the far left wing desires of this organization.

Moderates, by and large, do not have influential websites and are not heavily financed. But the extremes do and are. As a result, they have a far greater voice in Washington than is appropriate to their numbers. Moveon, for example, does not represent the views of a majority of Americans or, for that matter, a majority of democrats. But the squeaky wheel.....

But the bottom line and the answer to your question is, it's the extremists that are dividing our nation through undue influence on those politicians.

Absolutely not. There is a fundamental difference in the philosophy of the right and that of the left. If you need to better understand the difference I advise you to take both of them to their extreme and see where they lead you.

When I did this I found Liberalism if left unrestricted would lead to socialism. I found that Conservatism if left unrestricted would lead to life pretty much as it was before the 1960's. Both have their flaws and both have their advantages. I prefer the Conservative philosophy of less Federal regulation and more personal freedom and responsibility. Each of us must decide which way they prefer America to go.

Absolutely. Though I think it was STARTED less by the "politicians" themselves, but by the special interest groups that they came to support.

Once it was the Labor Unions against the Corporations, THEN in the early 1980's the Republican Party was corrupted by the "Moral Majority" and other religious groups.

IMO it had become MUCH too divisive and it seems that the politicians now can't get ANYTHING done except for voting for bigger government, pay raises for themselves and their cronies, and screwing over those whom they are actually supposed to be serving

Of course it is. How else will they keep the people from banding together to ever revolt against the government. They use key issues like abortion and the death penalty and immigration. They all want the same thing they just don't want us to. If the people ever get past that they will actually start talking and thinking and they can't have that now.

Wow here is a can of worms question. I believe that it is human nature (for some silly reason) to always have an US AND THEM belief. It could be race, gender, religion, politics, etc. I am not sure if it is to measure our success, intelligence, or the will to win. But it always seems to get in the way of accomplishing anything.

That was WHY the separate names were made up.

And like the idiotic lemmings we are we all just keep running off the cliff proving once and for all that only if the human race is extinct will there be any way for justice to prevail

Yes, but they are screwing up badly. They have the mistaken idea that everyone is a liberal or a conservative and pander to them. There are a hell of a lot of us moderates out here that is sick of it. Some day we will rise up and let them know. Hope it is soon.

Sparticus.... Divide what and conquer whom ?The Liberals would like to give you everything so long as they were in control. The conservatives would like you to assume responsibility for your life , educate yourself, work hard to accomplish something . The philosophy is for you to do not the government to do.
