They give you accomodation and transportation. Those are the most expensive things on your budget, so after that, you don't need much to start living here. After 3 months of salary, you should be able to re-surface. Emirates crew have a lots of discounts, special price or access everywhere in town, so check it out to get the right adresses.

Do not think that your monetory situation will improve overnight in Dxb. Life here is very very tough. The rents are very high. Most of the bachelors live in a shared appartment with as many as 8 to 10 people in a small room suitable for 2 persons!! Food is not very healthy if you have to feed yourself in cheap hotels. The climate is extremely hot and humid during April to September making it difficult to walk on road even for 5 minutes. The expenses are very high and it may take about 1100 just to survive with basic neccesities like housing ( shared with 8 to 10 other people ), food and laundry. Mobile calls are very expensive.
So if you are not going to earn more than AED 3000 as your first salary, then do not come to Dxb.
If you are provided salary above 3000 per month alongwith Transportation, then you can think of coming here if you do not have a job in India.
If you are a graduate engineer or a CA or having a technical background or accountancy background or HR background with a good experience then you can expect a good life here. Else, you will have to struggle for atleast two years.
If you can find a job which can sustain you and and can offer growth in the longterm, in your own country, then better do not come here.

I wouldn't if you do not have a lot of money. I pass through there 6+ times a year and it is too expensive, too hot, and too crowded. they have lots of work there, but be ready to share with others. The hotels are way too much, the food is not all that good, and to do stuff for fun it cost an arm and a leg. transportation is another story. all i know is the exchange rate is 360 AED for 100 dollars. so figure it out. a hotel will run you about 200-1000 a night, dollars that is. i am glad i do not live there, way too expensive.

Well, they provide accommodation and transportation for you. Therefore, you need some money with you for food and water in order to get survive. Afterthat, you will have to pay for your special socks. (they said it's design for aviation job) Then you have to pay for your special Clinique cream or lotion blah blah, again, they said it's specially for the aviation people.
And then, your friend will try to drag you out like crazy for night life and on and on...
After 1 month, they give you 3,600 AED.
That's all I can remember.
