Retired and living in California where I have always lived I can do anything I danged well please as long as the $$ holds out. With gas prices as high as they are that kind of cuts out week long trips to anywhere, but not a major problem. I've down sized and now call a studio apartment home. Didn't think I would like it that much, but it has turned out to be great except for an occasional crappy neighbor. Not much upkeep and I can write to my hearts content.

First of all, I am RETIRED (Yes, I worked hard all my adult life, was a Long Term Single Parent too .. so now this Empty-Nesting Retiree is able to ENJOY her HOME for sure!)
SECONDLY ... I am RENOVATING my HOME at this time (myself! Yes, I enjoy my workshop, tools, doing the work myself) so that I can put it on the market and transition into my NEW phase of life .. which is the Retiree who is able to ENJOY LIFE and wants to live a bit more rurally than I do now! Plus, I do want to be closer to family/friends (I was all over the world while I was on Active Duty with the US Military ... since I am now Retired retired .. I want to settle down and have some quiet time!).
