It is a gold colored $1 coin, statue of liberty on one side and John Adams on the other. Says John Adams 2nd president 1797-1801. I don't expect it to be valuable, but I've never seen one and wanted to make sure before I spend it.

Yes indeed you have one of the new presidential dollars there will be 4 issued each year, with the president on the front and will be issued in order of their presidency. There are some error coins out there so look at the edge, it should give the date, have a mint mark and say In God We Trust. If this is missing then it is an error coin. Now I said the edge not the rim, there is a rim on both side but only one edge. It is worth a dollar, if not blank and more if blank or double letters.

This is a new coin issued by the mint it is probably 4 to 5 months old...there is already one with washington,,,and there will be a new one every three months...it's part of a presidential series of coins being issued by the U.S. mint...it is worth $!.00

$1 it is one of the new president coins. They are being released every 3 months. That is the 2nd one.
