You need to go to the parts store and purchase one opf the following:

CHILTON'S REPAIR MANUAL

OR

HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL.

I would say the CHILTON'S it is more informative.

The costs are about the same - maybe 5.00 more for the Chiltons. Any major parts store or even walmart should have yours.

The positive battery cable has to be directly hooked to the large post on the starter's solenoid. Some cars and trucks also have some fusible links installed onto this stud so as to always have them powered such as the ignition switch. From the ignition switch on the column, find the purple or yellow wire that has power in the start position only. This wire leads to a neutral safety switch which is usually on the transmission, but can be other places. The output from this switch is always purple and this goes to the starter terminal marked with an "S" which is the start terminal.
