Personally, I really don't care. It's the people like me and you that have lost pictures, family heirlooms and that have to stay in motels or with family and pray that we don't lose the only home that we have or the only home that we may EVER have in our lifetime. I am just SOOOO sick and tired of hearing how the poor celebrities have their million dollar, replacable homes threatened.

Ahh man! I just asked a similar question 5 minutes ago.

My answer, yes and no. Yes, because even the wealthy have heirlooms, pictures, trinkets, and other things that can't be replaced.

No, becuase they can go out and buy 5 NEW HOMES.

Overall, I would feel worse if it were a poor neighborhood that burned down.

They are all human beings. The rich celebrities didn't hang up their feelings and their humanity the day they became wealthy and famous. We can't hope to understand what they're going through, so in these types of situations, if we can't say something kind, it is probably most appropriate to keep it to ourselves. There will be plenty of time to bash celebrities when this tragedy is over.

What you're saying sounds like jealousy and bitterness talking. Take a step back and imagine those celebrities are your loved ones (friends or family). When you do that, it makes it a lot easier to have compassion and to let go of judgment.

Agreed. Most, if not all, of those celebrities can replace their homes and be like nothing happened. Maybe lose some pictures or something of sentimental value, but everything else can be replaced, pronto.

It's the ordinary folks that my prayers are going up for.

do not overlook 11 U.S. conflict ships and 3 Israeli (German) Dolphin classification nuclear subs steaming in the direction of the Persian Gulf. we would possibly not even make it to 2012! it is not Bush or Obama's fault. The place of work of the President has been a 'lame duck' for some years.

Rich people do have feelings, c'mon! I get what you're saying kind of - that somehow that their conspicuous consumption ("hey look what I got!") is mocking them now.

But still, it is kind of messed up for anyone to lose everything in a fire. They've got kids and that's gotta be traumatic for the kids...

I care about anyone who lost their house. The fact that one's a celeberity and could replace their home doesn't make it okay.

I feel regret when anyone's house is destroyed. However, I would worry less about someone who had money than someone who didnt. Movie Stars have feelings and are human just like you are. Reverse snobbery, perhaps?
