Let us consult the magic 8 ball, no I'm just kidding.
On average the first labor takes 14-15 hours, but since she is already dilating and thinning out it may go sooner. Unfortunately labors are as different as people are, there is no exact way of knowing.
If I were to given my best guess I would say anywhere from 5-10 hours, just because of the previous dilation, but if she is further dilated once she goes in for inducement, it will take even less time.
Good Luck.

Since they are bringing her in at night, they will probably give her Cervidal which just softens your cervix. They probably wont start Pitocin until the next morning though.
I went in for an induction. My cervix was already really soft so they went straight into the pitocin. They expected my labor to last about 12 hours but it only lasted 5. So even my dr couldnt predict it knowing all of my exact info.
Truly, first labors can last anywhere from 4-20+ hours. It all depends on the woman. Just prepare for a long labor and if it is short....you will just be pleasantly surprised!

I was induced... I was about 1cm and 25% thinned when I went in at 7:30am.. I had my daughter at 2:30am the next morning. hopefully since your sis is a a lil further along than I, she will go quicker... Everyone is different tho, she may take an hour once they get the induction meds into her or she might take 20 hours.. u'll never know, so be prepared!... I am 31 weeks along with #2, I sure hope it doesnt take that long again xD
Tell your sis gratz and good luck!

There is no way to tell for sure. If she's already 4 cm then she is almost half way there! Once they start the meds it could happen pretty quickly. Of course once she's "ready," pushing can take a while.
I would think that the doctors wouldn't have her go 24 hours--if she is already 4 cm. Best guess? 12 hours or less before she starts to push. Some poor gals push for a couple of hours so that really adds on to the time.
:) I'm going to guess 2 am because that is the middle of the night.
Best wishes to your family

Labors vary greatly. It could be an hour, or 36 hours. It just depends. The drug used to induce labor usually slows things down a bit. Good luck to your sister.

It could be one hour I could be 27....they won't go over 24 after the water is broken and it just could very well become a c-section....you just never know how a labor and delivery will go.

Nobody knows that - there is no set time.
Could be just a couple of hours or it could be a day or more.
