If you uninstall Internet Explorer 7 through Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, it will revert back to Internet Explorer 6. I have done this on several computers. Make sure you restart your computer after the uninstall.

IE 7 Upgrades have been riddled with problems, but in order to make IE7 work correctly you will need to make sure that you have all the current Microsoft updates, including Windows media player, Windows Codecs and Direct X 9 or above.
Once you have these things you need to download the entire full version of IE7 and not the minimal installation.
After installation you will need to check you network setting and connection setting, and make sure that IE7 has allot or room for Temp files. It's a little cranky and slow without it.
And one other thing is to make sure during your installation that you save your previous version, which is an option in the installation.
IF you want to return to your previous version then goto control panel, add and remove programs and click on IE 7. once uninstalled you will have your previous browser back.

IE 7 works only on Win XP Service Pack 2 or higher and Vista.
Try re-installing it and see if it works.
To remove it
1. Uninstall it from Add / remove programs in Control Panel. It shud roll back to previuos version. P.S: You might not see Internet Explorer 7 in the list. Under such circumstances click on the Show Updates on top of the add / remove programs window.
2. Use system restore to restore your system
Other alternative browsers
1. Opera (The fastest browser and the smallest one, just a 5 mb download.) It really rocks... http://www.opera.com
2. Safari for windows- http://www.apple.com/safari

Just go to the Control Panel, in My Computer. Click Add/Remove Programs and find Internet Explorer 7. Click remove and it will walk you through rolling back to IE 6.x.

If you saved the installation exe file from the previous version you could rerun that one.
A better idea is to download Firefox and get a faster better browser without Internet Explorer headaches.

the best bet is to use firefox. easy to download and easy to use. I like it much better than IE6 even. i still will use IE6 but very rarely. Firefox has a great number of plug in utilities that are very useful indeed.
I had a WinXPHomeSP2 that was suppose to work fine with IE7 what a (&&%#$@%^ of (^$#@#% ..... anyway never did get it all off of my computer, and then IE6 would not work the same either, ended up doing a system restore. anyway, good luck with MS IE7

I don't know if you can go back to your previous version but, try installing codecs or active X controls required to run the browser smoothly or contact microsoft for help.
