How about giving him a gift of "I Love Daddy" baby clothes? When he opens them, he'll be a little surprised and confused, but then he'll figure it out and be very happy....

Such a great question. I can't believe some of the responses your getting.

Here's an idea. Take a picture of yourself with a side view of your belly. Alter the image several times with your belly getting slightly larger each time. Use all these images to put together a slid show or video of your growing belly. E-mail it to him.

I like the give him a present idea. Perhaps you could include some books on parenting, or just give him a present of bibs, diapers, bottles, etc.

With my first one someone gave me a "Daddy's toolbelt" which was an apron, with a pacifer, diaper, bottle, wipes, etc. attached. It really was cute and actually came in handy one day when I couldn't find a pacifer.

Well, I'm kind of a spaz, I'd probably make him be there when I took the test. But if that didn't happen, I might get hold of a copy of "Addams Family Values", and have it cued up to the bit at the end where Morticia is shown knitting the three-legged baby outfit. And to bring the point home, I would be knitting (ok, I really only crochet, but I might go out and get knitting needles for this occasion), too.

Well the first time my wife was so excited she showed me the results of the home pregnacy test so i went with her to the doctors when the blood test came back to confirm...The second time she had our 2 year old son call me at work and he said "Daddy Mommy has a baby in her belly" I fell off my chair!!!

You can buy him a shirt that says worlds best dad or buy some diapers and bottles he will get the idea!!

Congrats BEST OF LUCK I HOPE YOU HAVE HEALTHY AND HAPPY BABY!!

How about showing the pack that your B-control pills were in. Then of course there will be one still in the package so it looks like you missed a day> LOL

My wife came home from the doctor with a stuffed baby bottle and a couple of ballons that said I love Daddy. I will not live long enough to forget that.

Our second child was a different story. She told me on April 1st, (April fools day) we were again going to be parents. I about fainted. Later that week she realized the joke was on her. She was pregnant and we now have two great children.

When my mom was pregnant with my brother she put blue and pink balloons in my dad's side of the closet and didn't do anything else, she just waited. My dad is pretty clueless all the time and didn't get it but I think it's a cute idea.

Hey Honey,

I need a new wardrobe. The good news is I'm only gonna wear it for about 9 months. The bad news is it's going to cost about a million dollars over the next 21 years or so and you have to change your name to "Pops" at some point in the future.

On Full House, Becky served baby back ribs, baby carrots and some other 'baby' foods tho Jesse didnt get the hints.

One of my friends put a hamburger bun in their oven, knowing it was her husband's turn to cook dinner. When he opened the oven, the conversation went something like this:
"There's a bun in here."
"In where?"
"In the oven."
"There's a bun in the oven?"
"Yes!"
"Well you put it there."
"No, I didn't.", etc. until he realized the joke. He was so excited!

I thought I was having terrible PMS leading up to finding out I was pregnant. After I took the test, my plan was to spell out "It wasn't PMS" in diapers on our dining room table. However, he came home too soon and caught me crying for joy, so I had to 'fess up. Then we both stared at the stick and cried together.

Congrats on the pregnancy!

Since we are close to multiple holidays, I would buy him a holiday card that was for "Dad" and tell him "Something came in the mail for you". On the inside of the card I would write "I love you daddy" or some sort of message you can imagine your child would want to share with their dad in the future.
Another great idea is taking the pregnancy tester that you used and boxing it up as a gift.

Unlike everyone else, I think wrapping up the pregnancy test and giving it to him is kinda gross. And some preganancy test's results fade within a few hours. I would combine two of these ideas, the "baby" dinner (with baby carrots, peas, etc. etc.) and after dinner give him a fortune cookie which inside reads "Congratulations!" or "We're expecting" ya know. Then have "baby bottle" cake for dessert. ;-) Congratulations!! I can't wait to do this myself hehe.

Keep us posted!
