goin to Vegas would like to say we drove part of route 66. Anyone have any idea how far it is from vegas to route 66.

Head down RT. 93 to Kingman AZ. 66 runs through Kingman. It's just over 100 miles but an easy drive through the desert.

The only time I recall being on route 66 was in Williams, Arizona, not far from the Grand Canyon, so I'm guessing it wouldn't be to far from Vegas either.

There is a section in Barstow Ca with a museum about 2 hours west on route 15
Then parts in Az and all the way to Oklahoma.

This is a fun way to do this trip and yes i have driven it
Go to mapquest and enter it exactly like this:
LAS >Kingman AZ > advanced options>shortest route > Oatman AZ> Needles CA>LAS
The round trip is about 260 miles . You can save a little time on that by gettting out of LAS early and beating traffic heading down to and up from Hoover Dam.
You can also save a little time and money by resisting the urge to hit triple digits on US 93 once it becomes a divided highway after climbing up from the dam
