This would be from a computer with it already installed.

I'm "not" going to actually do it, i just want to know how.
-(also if there is an easier way to get it, let me know)
--(I want to "maybe" install it in a laptop(dual boot)). thx

Long and short answer - you can't.

Windows prevents itself from being copies from one computer to another. This prevents people who want to "know" how to transfer it from being able to do so. It marks certain files as "in sue" sheich prevents them from being copied.

You will need to do an install using a legal Windows 98se CD.

dewcoons is right, but it's not that Windows is preventing anything, it's just that when you put any Windows CD in and install, it's going to be different from machine to machine.

You can do this though, if you use a program like Ghost, but only if both machines are exactly identical (same hardware, same motherboard, and same processor. Memory sizes, hard drive numbers and sizes and processor speeds can vary. Some hardware can vary too, but it's usually a guess and test and I recommend the hardware configurations be the same).
