Well, what kind of mop do you have? I have a libman wonder mop and I LOVE it. It's been around forever so it's easy to find replacement mop heads. It's got microfiber strips that get into corners and hard to reach areas.. The mop itself is lightweight and it's easy to change the heads.. I replace mine after about 25-30 uses. I throw the heads into the washer and let them air dry.. The replacement heads cost about $8 so it's not a huge investment. I have acouple to switch out. I've tried almost every mop of the market and I've gone back to the Libman. The Valeda was really, really heavy and it was nearly impossible to change the heads... The Mr. Clean spongemop is ok cheap but, easy to change the heads but, the heads weren't always available.. The heads would leave a lot of water behind. I would say if you have a regular mop you should probably change the head about once a month if you can't launder it. Good luck

I get a new once a year, I clean my mop with a bleach solution every week, if that causes the head to deteriorate (fall apart) I'll get a new mop sooner.........

Ugh...get rid of that germ infested thing forever and just get a swifer. Mops are so gross....you are not cleaning anything when you mop, you're just putting old germs back on your floor.

Whenever it wears out. Be sure to clean it with bleach solution and let it dry thoroughly in the sun to kill germs.
