Do people who call themselves conservative and vote Republican ever do drugs or cheat on their spouses, why?

It always confused me that LIBS can do these things (cheat, do drugs) and DON'T resign (Clinton, for example), but REPUBS who do this stuff ALWAYS resign...

...and it the answer from LIB apologists is always "we never held ourselves out to have 'family values' or what not." And this was an extremely unsatisfactory answer...

...and now I'm reading "Atlas Shrugged" and I just finished the part where Hank Reardon gives his big speech at this trial (about 1/3 through the book) and he talks abouts how - for people with a moral code, their failure to adhere is used against them - but for people with no moral code, they have nothing to adhere to, so they cannot be criticized, even thoguh they do in fact violate morality.

I have had a beer before, is that doing drugs? What about cold medicine? Or pain relievers?

Of course they do .. just because you strive for higher values doesn't mean you aren't going to fall on your face sometimes.
We are all human beings and we all do sin, but we don't dwell on it or make it become norm. The dignity of the human being is what is on trial today.

To say. its okay to be immoral, do drugs, give out clean needles or condoms, support abortion clinics, etc doesn't do any good for a society. It's been proven time and time again.

Its like telling kids in school it doesn't matter if they get bad grades, get hooked on alcohol or drugs or have sex outside marriage, that 'happiness' is so short lived,in no time they don't care about anything or anyone, including themselves!

To give people hope, dreams and goals to make them feel like they can contribute; that is the way to give self worth and make a society great.

Well George W Bush himself was a big cocaine abuser in the 80's along with alcohol, Newt Gingrich had an affair and dumped his wife when she had cancer, so yes they do.
