First you have to hire an assistant who can get into all those hard to reach places for examination. It is a well know fact among treeologists that cats make the best assistants. Just beem me up around 5pm and we can talk about it.

You have to study anatomy, especially for the lumbar region. You also need a degree in root therapy so you can branch into other fields of tree surgery such as limb removal. Finally, you will have to practice on downed trees and rotting stumps (gross anato-tree). Once you complete your internship, you are ready to do tree surgery and earn the big money.

I think the best way to convince a tree to get better is to show it pictures of log cabins and place a 8' long rip saw near by.

Why actually learn stuff when you can intimidate your way into the needed behavior.

Isn't that the techniques you use on me Way O.... I mean Mistre ..... I mean Master?

Buy a chainsaw and a white coat, bring along a very big first aid kit and chop the leggy over growths off. Penfold would this but is too scared of heights.

I could too but I hate the sight of blood.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you need a chainsaw, some pitch, a chipper and some pretty specialized training to get the required certs. These days, they prefer to be called "Arborists."

Here's more than you wanted to know about it:
