I didn't know there are people who limits themselves to a specific definition. Are you not entitled to your opinion if a certain term is defined. Is that what your mind thinks? Is opinion not entitled to a definition of a term?

Determinism and freedom are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Both can be true, and I believe that they are. Determinism is a philosophical doctrine which holds that every mental or phyiscal act must necessarily occur after a given cause. Contemporary philosophical views of freedom are complicated and do not necessarily accept the classical view of free will. People can have freedom without having free will. Individual and social freedom can be causally determined.

Am I for or against it? Neither. In its simplest description for a notion, a determinism is an explanation for a something. Sometimes that something is an act, an action of a person or other living thing. I perceive the quality of that definition as neutral, neither positive spiritually nor negative, but it is positive in the existential sense. In its negative spiritual notion it is an opposition to the freewill concept or notion and supposes the truth to be negative for the control value in freewill. In its positive notion, or optimistic determinism, the control value exists as a self intelligence or self consciousness and is bettered for its self, it increases its powers to effect change in its ability to purposefully collect data and thereby accomplish many possibilities such as predict its own reaction to sense perception in pretext of having only its description.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

My opinion on a specific philosophical term? WHy would my "opinion" matter? There is a definition.

"theory or doctrine that acts of the will, occurrences in nature, or social or psychological phenomena are causally determined by preceding events or natural laws"

What is algebra? I just want some opinions... see how ridiculous that sounds?

Is that what you think?
You see, i believe people have choices. If they believe a certain question or stand requires a sensible answer and the interest is there, expect a good and acceptable response.
Like in this site, when you read nonsense question, you get nonsense answer but if you find something that will stimulate your interest, you share your stock knowledge. It's spontaneous, you know.
