Why not allow passes the all the way down the ice? What could be wrong with that, too much scoring? In basketball you can pass the ball to anyone, and there's more scoring.

no... then you'd get a ridiculous game of kids gym hockey with 20-18 scores... With the blue-line theres strategy and fairness... goal sucking is NOT hockey... you'd also get players neglecting their defensive responsibilities...

Keep the game in its traditional way...

Hockey has enough scoring. We don't need to see more than one 16-12 game per year, and that's the All-Star Game. Goalies can't cross the blue lines, except when pulled for an extra attacker. Take them away, and the next thing Rick DiPietro will be trying to skate the lenght of the ice to score.

LMFAO @ cme- Niiiiiiiice boring soccer reference in a hockey question. Second time in 2 weeks someone made me murph my morning coffee.

Hellya, baseball should allow teams to have a second batter, too. He'd stand behind the first batter and could swing at any pitch the first guy missed.
Maybe in hockey they could allow for more players on the ice too. Call them midfielders, opens the game up somewhat. Put some grass in, that ice is too cold, anyway. That way you can make the playing suface larger, about the size of a football field. The players wouldn't need all that equipment, so dress them down a little, take away those helmets so we can identify them. Now that I think about it, the puck isn't going to slide around very well, sjould ve use a ball, instead?
Now dat am tinking about et, maybe dem pants esh to longen, should putten dem in dein lederhosen or dem skorts. Van ghoal scoren plers can leeft the jerseys up and show braseers.
Good tinkkin. Vill brig it up at nexsht meetig.

I agree with Haley D. The fact that basketball is so high scoring is part of the reason I can't stand it. A team can be down 30 points at the half and still come to back to win. I think hockey is fine the way it is. You're already seeing more goals scored with the new rules.

Can't get rid of blue lines. It would completely change the game. It would be like getting rid of goaltenders.
The center red line - sure. Besides the red line was only put in during I think it was WW1 or WW2. To help out the depleted talent as most went to war.

No. Hell No. if anything they would get rid of the red line (that one's on it's way- they've been gradually lessening it's importance)

Offsides makes sure that there's a chance for the defense. In basketball, you don't see any defense, do you? just guys stupidly waving their arms in the air. and notice how basketball is pointless to watch until the final two minutes? Yeah...

High scoring does not mean better. In fact, having scores that high would make it much less interesting to watch.

Bite your tongue.
Why not suggest players be allowed to stand in the other team's backfield before the snap of the ball in football or have guys 8 feet tall who simply guard the net in basketball?
It's part of the game. Learn to leave well enough alone.
We don't need anymore brilliant, uninformed ideas screwing up hockey, thank you very much.

Hell no. Why not just get rid of foul balls in baseball? Or out of bounds in football?

Each team having their own zone is an integral part of hockey, you can't remove it without ruining the game. Attempted passes down the length of the ice would just lead to dozens of Icing calls every game.

No way, if you took away the blue line, all hell would break loose, itd be like tennis in a way... and if they did, theyd mess up a few things, for example, there wouldnt be any such this as offsides for one and two, no more "slap shot from the blue line" announcements when listening to the radio
