I am not a touchy-feely type person; I don't want anybody to spontaneously rub or touch me anywhere. Strangely enough I do enjoy a back rub in a massage parlor or even when I have a sore shoulder and ask someone (which I only do when it's *very* sore); it's more that I don't like the insinuations of someone who approaches me just like that.

A foot massage now is reserved for my fiance` or a professional.
But then again the massages he gives me are like a professional, he doesn't need to ask, all he does is just walk up to me if I am sitting grab my feet and start rubbing.

I have serious personal space issues due to some traumas in my past. I have no problem with my husband, sons, Mom and sisters getting in my space, but I know no one I would allow that close to me....not just my feet....I do hug people but I am just very careful who gets into my personal space. That is one reason I love this forum....I can make friends without them feeling the need to get too close to me. Virtual hugs do not freak me out. So, it would bother me if someone grabbed my foot (or arm, hand, shoulder or knee), yet it would not phase me if someone close to me did.

I had a little girl one time take off my sneakers (I was not wearing any sox) and she tickled my feet. I love it, and she also rubbed my feet.
