Most people who are smokers are very rude and inconsiderate people. I'm sure all the smokers will give me a big thumbs down for saying it, but it's true. I've never met a "considerate" smoker.
Should they go to jail if they are the ones who started a forest fire? YES they should get 5-10 yrs in San Quinton for starting a forest fire!
Cheers

--Ignorance--
After 20 years, I quit smoking a few months ago.
I've honestly never considered it a problem (or at all for that matter) to flick them out the window but then again, I don't live in a drought area.
I like to keep the inside of my car clean and having an ashtray full of buts wasn't apart of the plan.
It was also fun to try to hit the vehicles behind me. The best was at night when a small explosion of sparks would occur on contact :).

That's not the reason smoking rights are taken away. Studies show 2nd hand smoke is a killer as well, and there are usually more non-smokers than smokers in any public area, that's why the restrictions get tighter.
I smoke, but when I'm in the car I always put mine out in a plasic soda bottle filled with leftover soda or water. I detest people throwing ANYTHING out their windows, especially a lit cigarette.

I used to put my cigarettes completely out and throw them out the window. I quit doing this because there is now a littering fine for it. I shouldn't have littered, but I didn't throw lit cigarettes out the window because I realize it is dangerous. The reason nonsmokers are trying to take away smokers right to smoke in public is not because of cigarette butts. It is because of wanting to shove their health concerns and morality down smokers' throats.

A lit cigarette but would not add to drought, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
But that IS littering, so they could get fined like $100.
They aren't taking their rights away because they litter, it's because smoking causes cancer and all kinds of other problems so if smoking is no longer allowed, it could save lives.
Please get educated.

I am a smoker, and I agree with you.I never toss one out the window or leave a butt anywhere; it's inconsiderate and disgusting. When I'm outside I stub it out on the ground, tap out the left over tobacco , and put the filter in my pocket until I find a trash can.

It should be punishable w/jail time & even out lawed to smoke in a car. I was behind an old pick up in the country last week & this guy was tossing his butts out the window & empty beer cans into his cab but I didn't know what to do about it.

Those are the ones who smoke too much that putting away a lot of cigars properly all the time made them careless eventually.

Some smokers, NOT all, are too lazy to reach to the car ashtray or they don't want their vehicle "to smell like smoke" (it doesn't work. The cars reek anyway) and some just don't give a rat's @$$ about anything but themselves.
yes, they should be fined and perhaps serve on road cleanup; jail if they start a fire with their smoldering cigs.

To piss you off. I don't even smoke but, I'd gladly light one up just so I can flick the butt in your face when I'm done.
