We have "we care spas" which is funny to name them that, being that most places only care about your money, people spending thousands to look trendy, be like celebrities, etc etc, we've created a self centered society where it's all about me me me, and my own success, not to mention competition.

Everyting nowadays is pointless and meaningless, at least society wise. It's reduced down to kindergarten. People care about their age, looks, fitness, and that seems to be the most important thing.

I mean I'm all for feeling good about yourself, but was there ever really a need for about 5 million fragrances, outlet stores, and all these things, which are being created, wasting resources, and making workers around the world do slave labor to create garments which will most likely end up on the clearance rack to be destroyed anyways? lol.

Cars, cell phones, computers, are being mass produced, mostly to get discarded anyways, simply to please fickle people and trends.

Isn't all this just crazy? People in other countries are starving, but here in America, we're concerned about the lastest things, having a flat body, the right tan, the right clothes, the right trends. we may pay $250 for a pair of jeans, but throw it away if its a BIT too short or long or tight, or out of season. God forbid we have any clothes left over from the 90s.

Isn't this somewhat nuts?

if we start valuing people more than possessions, we have to face up to how we individually and collectively treat others.

and unfortunately, those who do try to put peopel first are often taken advantage of and/or mistreated themselves, discouraging others from pitching in.

It all boils down to money. Greed to be more specific. The most important value to most people is abnormal wealth which is passed down to a dog in inheritance. What ever happened to real life values? Respect, modesty, trust. I think we are living in a material world (thank you Madonna) and human value is becoming more degraded. I would rather be a poor decent human being with a boiled egg for lunch and putting a smile on my neighbors face than a rich conceited person with a 72 inch screen t.v. who finds himself complete with peices of green paper hidden away in a bank. Although I do aknowledge that some rich people do help society.

people are slaves to the herd mentality, what you have, i must have. and this all is just a testament to how dumbed down and oblivious the american population is to the world around them, we must question where the priorities lie for a nation that celebrates celebrity, that pays politicos exorbitant amounts of money, while paying teachers a pitance, who spends billions on war, yet vetos bills to provide health care to children and provides a poor education system. that fosters a system of credit/debt from which people can never escape, where you can lose your home, job, family, with no recourse. and on and on it goes....

You know, I have my own life to run. I think I'll let God run the rest of the world. Maybe the world can be improved by busybodies who whine and complain about it
