Get a University degree in Marketing/Commerce/Journalism to get the theory side of everything.
Then go to a trade/vocational school where they create/design and display clothing and accessories so you know the practical side of fashion and the fashion industry.
Finally, you may just want to write articles and interview fashion designers or models for television, so the Uni degrees would be enough.
It takes patience and perseverance to get into Fashion Journalism or any Media career.

Do your GSCE's
Do your A'Levels
Do a degree in a relevant subject such as english, journalism or fashion, or a language (in case you want to work abroad). But avoid media studies or anything like that - try and choose a 'core' degree as this will stand you in better stead when coming up againest other graduates for the same job. Central St Martins runs an excellent fashion degree course, but any good degree in a core subject will be fine.
Get as much work experience as you can - its an over saturated market so everyone is trying to get in.
Write to the fashion mags and ask for placements, unpaid work experience; write to fashion houses/stores and see if they will offer you anything. If you have a part-time job, make sure that it's in retail as this will all help in starting to build up your CV.
Every year Vogue runs a writing competition for young writers and aspiring journalists - enter and see how get along.
Its a very hard slog but great fun and rewarding the end - you just have to make sure that its what you really want as there are a lot of people out there trying to do the same thing.
Good luck

Firstly learn the craft of writing , what makes a good ' news' story, whether it's fashion or entertainment or hard news. You can get experience in writing by joining your student newspaper in your hs or perhaps submitting articles to your local paper. If there is a journalism class in your hs take that. Then learn all about fashion, talk to buyers, talk to designers locally, talk to your local modelling agencies.
Perhaps report on fashion shows etc.for the school paper.
When you decide to go to college , you might want to attend a school where fashion and design are offered as well as a good liberal arts program. Get as much education on a variety of subjects as you can , as you may not always be covering fashion for tv or magazines or newspapers. Likely as not if you become a reporter you'll be covering everything and anything when you first start.

Do a degree in English so that you can write properly in good English with good spelling. Read a lot of books as this will help with your vocabulary. When you have your degree you should apply to work on a local paper and at the same time keep well up to date on fashions, materials, trends and so on. Your initial work will be pretty mundane stuff but you must stick with it. Try to move up the writers ladder at your first job and submit articles to your editor on fashion etc. He will tell you how good they are. It will be a long and hard route but if it is really what you want then go for it.
