I have a Desk Top PC with multiple optical disk devices and pci cards installed and the pc is starved of power... I've a spare SMPS with me and I was wondering if it is possible to use the two SMPS.. one to exclusively power the mobo and the other to power the opto devices hard disk and the floppy drive?

I have never came across such a brilliant observation. I thought I am one of the rarest craziest thing on this planet. Hats off to you my dear you are really true genius. You want to power a PCI device also with a separate power supply!
