Americans objectify women. Women are led to believe their worth is based on looks, playboy covers not on character or intelligence. Anna Nicole Smith, Monroe & Brittney r revered. If your not size 6 or under, your looked down upon.
Americans wont even let a woman be President. Many women have tried to run, but y have no females won?
R u telling me that over 200 years of freedom and not 1 female was good enough to be president in this free country??
Muslim &3rd world countries have had female Presidents/Prime Ministers You'd think USA where everyone should be equal would have caught up.
Those who say Muslim men stone/abuse their women: American men don't have to abuse their women. The women are already abusing their own bodies. A false sense of freedom when they say women can choose. YET.American females starve themselves(by CHOICE?) to death and engage in self destructive, promiscuity(getting diseases) and imposing silicone and unnatural substances in their bodies to be accepted.

Some American women are like that, but many are not. Now, I won't disagree that many hate women and that misogyny is rampant in the so called free world. I do think you are ignoring the issues of spousal abuse, sexual assault and rape though. American men do abuse women just as much as in the Muslim world if not more. Now that being said, don't forget about cultural opinions and ideals.

You are assuming all people feel this way. Most actually don't, but according to the media we all do. I'm not a size 6, but I know my self worth isn't based on looks.
I wouldn't want to be a woman in a 3rd world country, or a Muslim woman. I'm sure all Muslims don't beat their wives any more than all American men objectify their women. As far as being president, well that one is going to take some time. Their are some preconceived notions about women and that they just aren't built to handle the kind of stress a president has to endure (I'm sure most mothers would disagree - lol). It is going to take a special woman to open that door. The same as it is going to take a special Black, Asian, or any other race person, to become president. That job has been, pretty much, the white mans role since the beginning of our history as Americans. It just seems to be burned into our minds that is the way it is supposed to be. I think eventually it will catch up with the times, but it will take a long time. It is the land of the free, and majority rules. Unfortunately, majority doesn't always make their voice heard. Too many of us are too willing to sit back and see where the chips fall, complain about it until the next election and repeat the cycle.
I am a proud American female. It isn't perfect, but nothing is.

The answer depends on what America you are asking the question to. Americans are very diverse in culture. You have the many different races that have different means of learning and then you through in the Media which Good news is just news and Bad News is Good Gossip, you tell me which one get around and the most attention faster. Also, you throw in the fact that women are be objectified and how the Media once again, shows you what they know sells and then take 5 seconds to tell you about descent things . Alot of respectable women who are taking seriously of some of these women and media. I say some these women because you got the ones that don't want to be nothing in their lives and you got those ones who do have a plan and doing things the American Way and taking advantage of the opportunity and can you blame them. But when it comes to taking Women seriously, you have to look at the leadership, the rest of the country can except the fact that Hilliary maybe the next President but, it is the leadership who isn't ready for that and for hersake some people may not vote for her because they know what kind of chaos that may happen, I said may happen because how some of her opponents in power feel about certain things. Unfortunately, that is the American Way, We Are Free to act stupid when it matters most!

Some Americans might hate women but in reality, those that ‘hate’ women are threatened by them and want them to be subservient to them so they are really afraid of women. How exactly would that make them hypocrites, to be a hypocrite they’d have to claim to love women while hating them. Yes, women can and are objectified by many men and women as well because it makes money and gets the attention of young and old men. Girls are led to believe that their worth is based on their looks by who, other women, specifically their moms. Who does all that makeup, and hair the ‘girly’ stuff, the father no my dear it is the mother or the girl’s friends who are girls, older sisters of their friends, or their friends’ moms. Britney spears is a product of her mother not ‘Americans’ she was crafted and marketed as she was to appeal to young men since they won’t listen to her music as well as young girls who having been brainwashed by their moms and the media need her to look a certain way for her to be ‘cool’. Character and personality really don’t come across in video clips or posters and ad spots so that is why those women who excel in those traits are not known for them. You are right some Americans are afraid to have a woman president, many might just be afraid to have Hillary as our President I know I am, it has nothing to do with her being a woman though I’m sure you won’t believe me. Some Muslim countries still make their women cover their bodies from head to toe and won’t let a woman go out on her own without a man accompanying her. What’s wrong with this picture, well you have latent anger and are misdirecting it at all Americans when it should be reflected back at other women who perpetuate the idea that women need to look a certain way to be worth anything. You also seem confused as to the way America works, which is why you don’t understand the real reasons behind the way things are. Using an example of a Muslim female prime minister when there are many more Muslim countries that treat women like property is another thing ‘wrong with this picture’.

There are many things running amuck in this country - however it is still a great place to live.
I don't feel as strongly as you that we Americans hate women. Freedoms are often misused - you (not just women) are free to gain weight, starve yourself, gyrate your hips on stage, be promiscuous. Your topics and many other issues we Americans are confronted with are induced by 1) a powerful, increasing free market, and 2) declining sense (or caring) of right and wrong.
As far as a women president - the whole presidential race is not a good evaluation of greatness. I still vote because I am hopeful for change. Our last 2 presidents - Clinton, Bush - neither of them were "good enough to be president of this free country". The selection process is "objectified" too - it is about looks, perception and money. There's some irony - when a woman is elected president - it will partly be because she is objectified!
I have 4 teenage children in middle and high school. There are 10 times as many women teachers and administrators as men in our school system. Women have more impact on society than many realize. Don't get me wrong - a woman is welcome to lead my country too.
It’s not just women that are treated poorly - it is all people that fail to reach our evaluation system - popularity, status, expectations. I try to raise my sons and daughters to be respectful, nice and intelligent. However - in high school, nice + smart = geek. Unfortunately, good looks and promiscuous personality are goals (freedoms?) of many Americans.

As an AMERICAN I can honestly say that we don't hate women. In our country women are free to do anything they choose to do. You ask this question and point a finger at us when you muslims will not even let your women show their faces in public. Over here we love and adore our girls, over there you are so embarassed by them you don't want anyone seeing them. I think you have it backwards.
