Dude, that is life. People feel unhappy because they r always in a illusion that there is something great called happiness somewhere. People feel by doing that or this, or aceiving that or this brings happiness. The fact is the more u search for happyniess u will never find it. Always we feel the other person has so much yet he is unhappy. Living life with what u have, and living fife for the moment is happiness. I dont say u should not have ambitions, yes u need to have and keep working on it without thinking too much. Life is too simple to our complicated brains. We r already happy but we dont realise, we always r bothered to accumulate or compete/compare with others, this makes life unhappy. Compete with urself compare with urself, grow with respect to urself. Comparision ruins life. happiness is with nowhere else.

This is a great question. I often feel unhappy myself and wonder what the heck is going on.
I'm noticing that my mind wants something to do.
It wants something to think about. When I can watch my mind and not identify with it, then I can see it and say to myself,
"Oh, there you go again thinking and projecting".
It doesn't help being born & raised in America because so much of our culture is geared toward filling any emptiness we feel with external stuff. I remember when the twin towers went down, President Bush told us to go out and buy something!
There's plenty to be grateful for and there is a lot of suffering in this world. Most of my suffering has been because of my own wrong thinking & wrong perceptions.
I want to see things clearly, but it's a challenge.
I'm finding that if I eat right and do healthy things, I suffer less.
Here are some good ideas:
1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.
2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.
3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating.
4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself)
5. Stop smoking, drinking beer & wine, and drinking coffee.
6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy.
8. Avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Tone up the muscles:

1. Join a gym and get a trainer.
2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching & yoga regimen.
3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body.
4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike
5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class.
6. Join the local YMCA..

Mental Health:

1. Get a friend to talk to each day about your feelings.
2. If you have some money or insurance, get a counselor to talk to.
3. Learn how to meditate.
4. Join a support group for the issue you’re dealing with.
5. Ask your Higher Self (or God) for guidance.
6. Start keeping a diary or journal about your feelings & thoughts.
7. Write a ‘gratitude’ list every night.
8. Do something that makes you happy each day like: listen to your favorite music, draw, paint, write, or anything creative.
9. Do something for someone else who needs help.

They're more unhappy with their spiritual/mental side. When you say 'more than enough', I take that as physical pleasures. The mind feeds off of the body, but there's a point where the mind needs to reach its own 'nirvana.' I'm not a religious person, but I can almost grasp the concept of 'happiness.' When you've stopped wanting physical things, It's time for spiritual. If you can't make that distinction then you'll be lost in Samsara. The almost inevetable circle.....

Good luck!!!

I think the happiness is based on much more than material possessions and what what has or perceives themselves to have in life.
Sadness can be caused by both internal and external factors, some things that make you upset are not in your control, that of the death of a loved one etc.
Ultimately for me, happiness is a choice that you make for yourself. I wake up in the morning and think, I am happy to be alive today. And if that's what it takes sometimes to get me out of bed, then I'm all for it.
Half the problem is that some people are too busy crying over that they don't have in life or love, to look around and truly appreciate what they do have.

Yes, you are right the person who have enough are unhappy because they have more responsibilities tension etc.

Life is full of pain and happiness, it's mixture of both. Once you feel unhappy but when happiness comes in your way then unhappiness automatically remove from your life. So believe in this theory that if you spending a bad day today then tomorrow will come with new light and i will enjoy this light with my near dear one.

If unhappiness removes from our lives then we can't feel happiness, so both are necessity. But we should distribute happiness in our near dear one because unhappiness comes suddenly but for happiness you have to do many things like go for outing, shoping, movie, picnic etc.

SO GO AND ENJOY YOUR LIFE INSTEAD OF THINKING ABOUT UNHAPPINESS.

Actually, a lot of people hate their jobs, or they hate their mate, or the drive to work but surprisingly, most report a fairly high level of contentment. Some people, a lot of people are not unhappy most of the time, they are not at work all the time, not driving all of the time, and not with a mate all the time. So they have friends, have a beer and laugh about what bothers them. Part of the time.

Mostly rich people or country are unhappy. You could see asian people are more happier as compared to western people. As you compare the culture, climate and lifestyle etc.Even if you have everything there is something missing. Mostly engaged in material things they are lacking spirituality.
