People judge stuff they don't know about. People judge other religions because theirs is different, and it's all they know, so they assume something must be wrong with others. I think it's the same with homosexuality, racial issues, etc.

Some people are just really close-minded, and instead of thinking for themselves they just accept that something is wrong with anything different, or with anything that they've never dealt with.

People that have a problem with gays are normally not completely sure about their sexuality.. Either that or they have been bought up in a family that isn't.. People are always scared of what they don't understand, it's normally just narrow minded people..

What I don't understand.. and I was thinking this the other day.. Is why people even care, why it even comes into their thoughts to judge.. I don't understand how you can let something that doesn't effect you bother you so much! Maybe these people just have too much time on their hands!

A lot of it is, sadly, coming from the Christian world. I don't speak for ALL Christians, but the Christians who are against or even hate gays judge for a number of reasons. It doesn't say in the Bible if gay is all right, many pagans were gay, one can't fulfill biological duties (repopulating the world) if one is gay...

In general, people are also afraid to embrace something different. It's a new kind of love, and people don't like it--it breaks all traditions. There's a fear that they'll ruin or change America, and there's also a stigma that they're just sex-hungry, and that's that.

I wish it were different, I do, I do.

People do tend to judge them. Whist I am a Christian I don't have to judge them because the Lord Himself has judged the matter already. The very reason the Lord destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah was for the same. The Lord tells us in the Bible that in the last days, men and women would leave the natural use of each other and that homosexuality would become rife. For those who engage in this practice, the Lord gives them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which seem convenient to them. The Lord Himself has declared homosexuality to be an abomination and to be totally unnatural. (reprobate simply means to be morally bankrupt) mankind will always attempt to justify his behavior by stating that they were born that way. Rubbish! not according to the Lord. This practice is clearly totally unnatural and is therefore a conscience choice on the part of the person indulging in same. It's up to these people to straighten out their own lives and get seroius about why they were placed on earth in the first place. All men are accountable to the Lord and at the end of the day when they face the Lord in judgment, their excuse that "they were made that way" will not wash with the Lord as he has judged the matter already.

Not sure really? being bisexual myself... For some its a religious thing, or how they were bought up, they just dont like people who are different, some are descusted by it and some think its unaturall (despite the fact that animals do it too....) And some are just repressing there own gayness by taking it out on others.... I wish it was not this way though, but it is certainly so much better than what it used to be!

Hi Nicky, I know you have been trying to connect to me but I don't know how to find your reply. I keep getting a message from Yahoo answers. So, I will just respond to your question. I see how much you are hurting and want so badly to get pregnant. I was that way too. I did everything. It took me until I was 38 before I got pregnant. I was so happy and felt whole and like a woman should. But I was let down when I found it was a tubal pregnancy. I didn't become pregnant until I completely gave up trying. The doctors said it was because I relaxed. I do hope you are able to have a happy healthy baby some day. I raised my husbands first wifes daughter. So, I was somewhat fulfilled. I wish I could read your replys to me but I looked for them and can't find them anywhere. It doesn't matter if you are gay or not. You sound like you would make a loving and caring mom to some deserving child. You are human and have feelings and just want a baby and I can really understand where you are coming from on that one. Good luck to you. I hope you are successful.
By the way, I don't judge gays. I have some really good friends that are gay. We just don't talk about the bedroom and preferences or anything like that. When I said keep it in the closet. I simply meant we don;t need to discuss the preferences to be friends. I want to know people as they are and not what their sexual choices are. I don't like to discuss sex with anyone except my husband. My gay friends and I enjoy each others friendship and keep our private life private. What you do is your choice and only yours. It is nobody elses business. You look so sad in your avatar and you sound sad in your questions. I don't like to see people so upset and hurting so much. I hope you find happiness. Life is so short and it is harder when you are miserable.

Kitten, not everyone has a problem with gays...but the "in-your-face", catty, pretentious attitudes and the "I hate all women" thing does tend to wear on people sometimes. Some of them don't wish to be discriminated against, but they see it as perfectly acceptable to call straight people "breeders" and women "fish". Also, there are quite a few not-so-decent gays out there that ruin it for the rest of the decent ones; Perfect example of that is Chris Crocker. He is portraying the gay community very poorly, and people that don't know much about them only have what they've seen of him to go on. Google him and watch some of his video blogs, you'll know exactly what I am talking about.

Because people judge everyone, it's a horrible feature of humans. The ability for abstract thought is our blessing and our downfall.

Because they are different and people are afraid of 'different' and 'unknown'...
In my country (which is Cyprus) gay people are so not accepted. I would feel sorry for anyone who declares to be gay and has to live here.
Sad but that's how it is unfortunately.
