about 5 weeks and they way you can tell its a real smile is the corners of the eyes follow the curving of the mouth.
If just their mouth's move then its probably more so an involuntary reaction or wind.

My little man was 5 1/2 weeks and it was one of the best things i have seen and knowing i was the first to see it was greater,
and that time i knew it wasnt a "wind" smile

ah, those blank face days. The eyes will smile very young, but that first smile was around a month old With my daughter was more like 6 weeks I think.

My baby was born on the 20th April and his irst proper smile was on my birthday which was the 29th of may so about 5 weeks

I think it was just after the first month - all I can remember is standing waiting with the camera to capture the moment and he'd just stare blankly but every time I put it down he'd smile again.
He's just as awkward now almost six years on!

My second baby was brought into my hospital room after giving birth and as soon as I spoke the nurse said, OMG she just smiled b/c she heard your voice. She was very smiley from the first day, very different from my first baby. It took her awhile.

I think it was between 5 and 6 weeks old. It just makes it all seem Worth it.

he was about 4 weeks - there was a big difference from the 'wind' smile to the real thing...it was lovely

all mine were differnet but the yougnest smiled at about 3 weeks
