Socialists don't believe in freedom.
EDIT: Your first answers show just how much liberals are blind as well. One guy quotes wikapedia for proof, but I don't think he realizes that anyone can put stuff there whether or not it is correct or not. The others are simply Bush-bashers. I bet that if you asked them, they have not watched any of the recent news about Iraq and how well the surge is working and how much more control the Iraqi government is establishing. Since it is news they don't want to hear, if they don't listen to it, they have plausible deniability.

Its not whining to point out that freedom and democracy are not what the US is doing in Iraq - freedom and democracy has never been a major factor in US foreign policy (just look at al the mad right wing dictators you've supported over the years - remember Vinegar Joe Stillwell's comments about Chiang Kai Chek "he may be a son of a *****, but he's OUR son of a *****"). That sums it up - the US is out to get whatever advantage it can for itself, so quit the freedom & democracy crap - you don't care one bit about it.
We asked you to help with giving freedom & democracy to East Timor - and got told by the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff that it wasn't in the US interests to help, so thankyou, but please don't be hypocrites.

It wasn't liberals who won the mid-words for the Democrats, it become Independents and moderates. attempt to appreciate that's not merely liberals who want somebody else dealing with this horror of a warfare. Terrorists are in Iraq NOW, they weren't there previously Bush blew Iraq huge open and gave them secure passage in. Even he admitted Hussein had not something to do with 9/11. we're not combating terrorism over there, we are caught interior the midst of a civil warfare that we helped create. we would desire to get out of Iraq, with a gentle withdrawal, and positioned all of our would desire to at the back of surely searching the terrorists down like the animals they are. the excellent option now we are in too a great number of a quagmire to concentration all of our interest on them and that's what's going to get greater human beings killed via terrorism interior the top. In all of the Iraq confusion the numbers of terrorists are turning out to be via leaps and limitations. what's so confusing to appreciate approximately that?

The answer is in your question!
Only the unwashed and unlearned support the war in Iraq, particularly after overwhelming evidence that the worst military blunder in the history of mankind has been perpetrated by Republican President George W. Bush, and supported by rabid right wing Republicans.
Thanks

Some thing to read up on first, i just recommend it, not that you have to read it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism#Liberalism_and_radicalism
Iraq and all of the other middle east countries are muslim/islam (Sunni and Shi'a).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam
If you understood their religion you would know "there will never be peace in the middle east". Quote me on that if you want.
Basically their culture is so diffrent it regects (mostly) freedom (mostly of women) and democracy (to anyone not muslim).
At it's core the Muslim religion's goal is to convert everyone to their religion (that basically means their culture).
There is also the fear that we will simply be wasting our time. This is a very valid fear as we are fighting and dieing there. There is also no evidence that "freedom and democracy" will prevail over thousands of years of culture.
My two cents on bush:

It seems to me the conservatives are whining that they need more time for their failed experiment and that all the while, Iraq is becoming less and less free.
