I've seen a lot of male bashing here from some who claim to be feminists, but obviously misunderstand the concept and twist it into something that it isn't meant to be (which should offend a true feminist, men, women, and any sane person)... And of course there's also women bashing. It comes from both sides.

I would like to ask, do you let your views affect your relationships with people? Do you think you could live a happier and more productive life if you didn't spend it hating half of the population? Do you ever think you're sabotaging yourself with your own beliefs?

That maybe one day you're going to look back and regret how you spent your time?

My father used to say he was very open minded-he hated everybody. I used this to go the other way. I have reached my "someday" I have tried to live my life by the principles that all people deserve respect until they prove that they don't . I do not regret it. I have met good, great, and wonderful people. and I have run across (and married) some of the scum. I can honestly say that sex is no barrier to bad character. So to prejudice oneself against anyone because of looks, gender, etc before getting to know the human is ( generally) a mistake. There are exceptions like Ted Bundy and Angel Martinez and so forth

I agree with you that often people misunderstand 'feminism' but i think its difficult to realize how much sexism there still is in the world. Even some of my best male friends, who are amazing and good guys, have shown some serious sexism when probed, but they don't even realize it. Its truly sad that people can't just judge a person by their personality and by their actions, but instead already have a preconceived idea about what they are before they even know them.
I get what your saying about not spending your life hating the world, and I totally agree with the attitude your promoting, but if no-one stood up for what they believed in, what kind of a world would we live in?

Personally, I don't judge people by their gender. My only weakness is if they are good-looking. Doesn't matter if they are a man or a woman; if they are good-looking, some "flaws" of character I seem to overlook quite easily.

Of course, you are right in that a lot of people don't really understand what feminism is really about.

there are a lot of bad men, but there are also a lot of bad women, it's not the gender, it's the person
