I found today that 7zip cannot handle files bigger than 16 billion gigabytes. This made me think what is the biggest file that someone has ever made? (in gigabytes)

I made only 4 G in old Win 98 SE setup, I never encounter more either purposely or by mistake.

But 4 G was the upper limit anyway.

Well, potentially endless as a file is fundamentally a binary string. I think if someone gave a specific answer to your question then the next person to read may say greater number.
