There are many kinds of sand. Most are siliceous materials. But there are sands that are mostly composed of other rock fragments such as calcareous sands where the individual grains are limestone fragments or heavy metals such as magnetite sands or heavy mineral sands that are mostly found along beaches.

Crystallised time. As in the sands of time, thats why the more time you spend on the beach the more sand gets in your sandwiches but that begs the question Who first put sand between 2 pieces of bread to make the first sandwich, and why?
