I Like all kinds of music but cannot take this seriously, is it just a way to make money from the music business for people who cant sing. A case of the emperors new clothes no one likes to admit they dont understand it.

I get from other comments that people don't like Pop-Hop. Leave rap alone. Hate the crap on the radio, but go to a underground spot and listen to some REAL talent....you know the MC's that record companies don't know how to package and sell. Also, if you listen to all those other forms of music, then why would you not like rap music...(the music part, not the 'rapping' part). Great producers use music from ALL the forms that you say you like. It can't ALL be crap in that given case.

Well since we are all speaking our minds here i personally think your either bored,or just some ignorant fool placing himself above others because of your taste in music. Yes rapping does take talent. If you dont believe so then you try writing or freestyling and have it make sence. But i can admit that hip hop has some horrible representation going on in the mainstream. So if thats all you see then of course you wont like it. However all of you hip hop bashers should take my advice and do some reseach before you go bashing anything. Until then i will do my regular and say....

GET YOUR SORRY A*SS THE F*CK OUT OF THIS SECTION!!!!!!!!

Violation time.....

Ha ha! That was a cheap shot though!
However, I can understand where you're coming from.
The problem is that you're listening to the redundant CRAP on the radio. Check out some Kanye, Jay-z, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common, Lupe Fiasco, and maybe some Fabolous and you may feel differently.
Other than that, to each it's own. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. That doesn't make it CRAP though. It's art. I don't like HARD rock (but I like Blink 182, Green Day, & Yellow Card), but it's a form of expression that just doesn't gel with me. And as the saying goes "One man's TRASH is another man's TREASURE".

Even though I don't listen to rap, I can't say I ubderly dislike it like you claim you do, doesn't mean it's crap. Just because you don't understand it / like it, doesn't mean it's the worst thing out there. I'm sure you don't like opera or other types of music, so why aren't you expressing your oh so hate for it? Because you won't get a reaction like you will with calling rap "crap".

From your "question" I'll assume you're close-minded and don't think outside of your own bubble / box / whatever you would like to call it. Music types are different, and always will be.

You should learn more about rap music... instead of jumping out and saying such rubbish...

Mainstream rap should. Most of the true hip-hop artists are underground the only mainstream artists that are good are:

OutKast
Kanye West
Nas
and Common

Everyone else in the mainstream sucks for the most part.

Rap is a diverse form of music. It enables to get some peoples emotions out, or that's merely available for a stable time. The stuff that seems to not make sense is lots of the time for a stable time. The stuff that sounds unhappy is merely to get their emotions out.

if you actually want to take a chance on rap, remember it is made for rappers. So you will never get a quality lyricist that doesn't speak of guns, hoes, booze, an drugs (maybe kanye west)
try to listen to some
WU-TANG CLAN. Very good at unconventional raps, its considered dungeon rap, because they do it all to different and intriguing beats

"You mean CRAP? I don't like it either, they look like they don't know how to dress, its not that great of music, they rap about being selfish and cuss a lot. They are a bad influence, people dress in their crap styles because they think it is cool, but it looks stupid"

You've obviously never listened to Tupac. If you want to listen to some real rap, listen to: Dear Mama, Keep Ya Head Up, and Changes. Tell me how those three songs are selfish.

Get a life, ur too dense to understand real music. If you truelly like all that music u said... then u would like rap. Because rap pulls from every form of music and blends it together.

If u have only heard Soulja Boy, Mims, and Hurricane Chris, then its understandable why u dont like rap.

But if u have heard A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Gang Starr, and Jay-z and its still not ur bag of chips... then ur not going to like rap, and dont go bashing it either, it just proves ur an idiot with nothing else to do.

I say ur name is OCK, and u should put the capital C in front of that. That would be(((COC K))) just to help ur simple minded azz out.
