What they do is drill a hole in the side of these animals and put a large plastic plug in place of the hole. They then test the food that CONSTANTLY leaks out of the huge hole in the side of their bodys. They also reach their arms into the holes to move around the intestines of the animals. They have been doing these experiments for years. It's the nastiest thing I have ever seen.

I don't work there anymore. I was doing electrical work but I am back in CT now so I can't take any pictures. It's a pretty visible experiment though and it wouldn't be that difficult to witness it. I doubt any of it is illegal.

Yeah, that's been going on for a long time. I used to live out in the country and we saw a video about that in school years ago. I can't remember why they do it, but it didn't sit well with me either. Taking photos to the media isn't going to shut it down. It's been going on for a long time and it's not considered cruelty. Like I said, I don't remember why exactly they did it, but I do remember it supposedly being beneficial to the cow in some way. I don't necessarily support doing that to an animal, but I don't think it really hurts the animal like we think it would, it just doesn't look very nice.

Oh my god that sounds horrible! Poor animals!

I'd definately say to take pictures, a picture phone would work great, even better if you can record videos on it. You could almost hide the phone while recording what goes on, so no one would notice you.

Then go to your local news and media places (TV, newspapers..etc) and show them the information.

Also write down everything - times, dates, what happens, where at (like a room number or address if it changes) - whenever you see something going on. If you document it they will take you more seriously.

Yes this is a common practice at most Agricultural schools. It is called fistulation. This is used to see how different foods digest and to develop right formulas for live stock. I'm not standing for it or against it I have just taken a few Ag classes.

LIke to exagerate do you? Had such a cow where I worked (vet clinic) she lived to be 19 (very old for a cow) In no distress, no leaking food. spoiled rotten. they needed to swipe some rumen liquer (stomach juice) for a ill cow from time to time less distress to her than a blood draw.
