I am at a loss to what to buy my soon to be 9 year old son for his December birthday and Xmas. He is crazy about playstation and computers, but already has so many games that I would like to get him something different.

I was thinking about some books or games, but would like some ideas.

Get him a Klutz book--I got the paper airplane one for my cousin and he was crazy for it.

The Cranium games are great, too. I really like the Family Fun game, and the Zooreka games.

A Nerf football--they can be played with indoors and out. The Weather Blitz pro football from Nerf is a really great little ball. It even comes with a Spider-Man theme!

If he's into building (or think it might be something he's good at), try a LEGO kit or a MAGNETIX kit.

How about a tent or some hiking boots? That way he'll actually see the outdoors.

Super cool, although expenisve option:
A go kart. It's kind of like a video game, but real. Plus, he'll get some real world driving experience, and be a better driver by the time he's old enough to drive a car. I had a 5hp go kart as a kid. We never got hurt, and it created lots of fun memories.

Hello. You can find original gifts here: www.cafepress.com/nickynea
The design details are unique and actually combined in a nice way with the articles. There aren't books, but journals and other things, like mousepads for example.
If he likes music, an mp3 player (with more than 2 GB of space) is a great choice. New and / or unusual designs can be found at www.nea.4yz.com
Good luck!

frisbee - a perennial favorite
get a couple - one for each member of the family - then go to the park
and play frisbee golf - - -choose a target (this pole, that fire hydrant, a tree, the slide, the merry go round - etc)
and before hand - say - must be within three feet/ or/ must hit/ or land on - to score the point
then add up the 'throws' - lowet total wins

all the best
