i found out that there's a lump in the right side of my labia. it's a size of a grapes. i went to my doctor and i had it treated thru Marsupialization. its been 1 month and 3 weeks already and it is ok now...but just yesterday, i felt that there's a lump in the left side of my labia! its still quiet small. i went to my doctor again, and i have to schedule a marsupialization maybe next week. she gave me antibiotics just like the last time..the two glands had been infected already...is it possible that the cyst might come back again? who has an experience like mine? have you told your doctor to remove the whole two bartholin's gland? im scared! pls help!

I had the cyst come back once. My doctor is not recommending the removal tho and I wouldn't do it unless I absolutely had to.
The cyst has reappeared after over a year. I just had marsupialization done last week.

And I hope it won't come back again.

But in any case, you have 2 Bartholin's glands and you need at least one of them...so better don't remove them. The cyst is not dangerous and when it starts hurting it is a pretty simple procedure to get rid of it.

BTW - sometimes I get the lump and than it goes away on its own so don't freak out just yet and only schedule another marsupialization if it starts hurting or gets very big.
This is what I was told anyway!

Good luck!

That's good that it drained...the lump still there is likely just a lump from the swollen tissue and will shrink back to normal in a few days. The fact that it is not sore now is good and points to it likely having been completely drained. Go have a sitz bath and keep doing those until the wound it drained out od is healed. I only ever had one of those cysts in my life probably when I was about 20. I hope you never get one again too.

I haven't had this happen to me before but I've talked to some women who have had this happen to them and one of them had to have the glands in that area removed to try and correct the problem.

As for whether the cyst will come back or not that's hard to say for sure in your case but I know it has for some other women.

Because of being scared I would recommend getting another opinion, preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently use to see what they say.
