There is more than one way to kill at cat than smother it with cream.

You have a few options, but consider the distances and the terrain. You also have to think about how much time you have.

Cruise ships are unlikely to go their directly. Rather you would have to do a series of cruises to get there.
An alternative to the cruise ship is to get a cabin on freighter. There are fairly cheap and with an Aussie passport there are plenty of places you can get off and look.

An alternative is to do the norther rail link. You can through China, russia, through Eastern Europe and down into Italy.

The southern link is not likely to one using rail. You can go China, Tibet, Nepal, India and across into Eastern Europe (I met a slovenia guy doing that route). However you have to wait until next summer to avoid being snowed it.

You might try a cruise ship to southern Asia, the another ship across to the middle east or north africa, then cruise ship or ferry across the mediteranean.

The main issue is getting from Asia into Europe, but with time, courage, luck or money you can do it without any problem.

Liam, i could do Italy first because it relatively is closer to you, yet then you certainly could have a difficulty with Australia. you purely won't be able to romp up in Australia, have a jolly good time, and paintings on an identical time, you will get thrown out, like an identical could happen to you right here in Canada. look at what Zafir is saying to you in her answer. I could enrich Zafir, purchase saying you require a return air cost ticket, it relatively is open dated. i could flow greater and advise you get finished return and forth insurance, it relatively is low-value, and it saved my Baron Verulam whilst i became into in Sydney.
