I'm talking extreme ugliness here like men with no hair, flopping manbreasts, and enormous, swollen beer bellies.

These men do not have the traditional qualities associated with masculine power, so how can they be empowered?

It seems to me that 'masculinists' focus on whining, blaming, projecting, denying, justifying, etc., ...

Twilight: " I'm fast coming to the belief that they are a purely text-based life form"...omg, me TOO! The Yeti and Sasquatch have similar concerns - nobody takes them seriously at all - which leads me to think that if the 'masculinists', Yeti and Sasquatch would work as a team they would accomplish far more than alone. They need to pool their resources.

Very good question.

It's hard to imagine how such repulsive beings could have hearts and feelings, let alone brains and ideas.

Perhaps they have been cruelly misrepresented, misquoted and treated with scorn without their work being properly understood?

It's horrid to consider such a thing happening I know, and yet it is such a common occurrence.

Cheers :-)

It's a funny thing, I have never met a "masculinist" outside of this forum, and I'm fast coming to the belief that they are a purely text-based life form with no physical manifestation at all. Pure ASCII.

I've met sexists, chauvinists, bigots, misogynists of every hue, haters, rights advocates, authoritarians and despots.

But I've never met a masculinist. Is it a word someone invented in junior high when asked what the "opposite of a feminist" is, and it somehow stuck? It isn't in any dictionary.

Is the masculinist movement what happens when ugly men with no hair, flopping manbreasts and enormous swollen beer bellies move their fingers over a keyboard?

If so then I'm sure even extremely ugly men can be part of it too. Text doesn't care if you're cute.

I know this is a copy of another question from this morning.

I will say that Men & Women both need to learn that they are Important that they have value NO matter what they look like NO matter what they believe in.

A Man will always be a Man. a Women will always be a Women it doesn't matter what they look like. after all looks fade after a while. if only BOTH genders can stop all the fighting and try and work things out so our Children can live in peace with BOTH genders the way it should be God Bless

I'm sure the ugly guys are welcome, along with the non-ugly guys, but are the ones incapable of googling "masculinist" really wanted in the men's movement? How can you say you've never heard of such a thing as the masculinist movement in the Gender and Women's Studies area, without taking a minute or two to check out if it *really* exists?

Why does everyone have to be an "ist"? What's with this banding together and banging your tambourines, etc.?

Why don't people just be themselves and take responsibility for their own actions, successful or failure?

Feminists, masculinists, two sides of the same anti-social, ill-informed, persecution complex.

I am sure some are asking if YOU qualify as a human being but my answer to your dumb question would do so.

EVERY human being IS very worthwhile in the sight of the person whose view is most important. It does not matter what the ‘masculinist movement’ thinks nor does it matter what you or I think.

GOD said this about anyone that trusts in Jesus for salvation:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

I would also suggest you read the link below to learn how it feels to be rejected!

"MASCULINIST MOVEMENT"? Where the hell did that one come from? For phuq sake we've got so many movements out here in society that we are running out of anything viable!
Before the next decade is out someone is going to start a global "FECAL MOVEMENT", because everything else is taken!!!!!!
This is getting really bad.

Excellent analogy. I know the women who choose not to look feminine in a traditional sense of viewed by some as not having any value.

"These men do not have the traditional qualities associated with masculine power"

Who said anything about power. You sound scary, like someone from the KKK. Masculinism is all about upholding men's rights where they have been trampled upon. Any person with a Y chromosome qualifies as a man. Just as feminism upholds women's rights where they have been trampled upon. Or do you have a different definition?

I think we can agree that sexism of *both kinds* exists in this world, with misandry dominating Western society and misogyny dominating other cultures. Using only feminism to tackle this is like putting two wheels on one side of a car and expecting it to run.

If men's rights were respected fairly by women (and men), there would be no need for a masculist movement now, hey?

EDIT: Twilight,
http://www.themenscenter.com/ is a good place to start. Just masculists, no misogynists or chauvinists.

I think you missunderstood the mascuinist movement. It isnt the feminist movement where you interchange female with male, the mens movement deals with real life issues, adressing inequalities in the legislative and executive.
Also I feel sorry for you that there are no men in your life, maybe there are better ways to deal with it than venting on here.

Someone's physical appearance has nothing to do with their masculinity or masculine power. Physical appearance has more to do with feminine power. That's why people bring up the appearance of women in the feminist movement, because they could not have any feminine power implying that is the reason they choose to obtain power in other ways.
