If you ant to take the job, then you have every right to do so. Your company CEO does not own you. You have a right to better yourself. That's what the American Dream is all about. You must make your own decisions.

My dear friend,

first of all congrats on getting a good offer.

Now, the answer to your question depends on where are you located.

If you are working in some middle east countries, you need to get a clearance letter from your sponsor, which makes things tough.

If there are no such rules and regulations in your country, then, to hell with your CEO. he has no right to stop you. You just need to see what is there in your employment contract, if any. In normal cases, you just need to give him 2weeks or 1 months notice. that is all.

Please check the rules in your country (where are doing the job, of course)

Best of Luck my dear.

what do you mean he won't allow you to go? what is it that you do? unless you've signed some sort of strange contract where you HAVE to stay with a company (not anything I've heard of), tell your CEO to screw off and quit!

Just give your notice. If it is not accepted then walk out. Do not stay even if they double your salary because they will probably lay you off 2 weeks later because that's what happened to me.
