I save things like book store gift cards, pens etc for end of the year gifts and give something just for them on Christmas.
Godiva Chocolates has a nice Christmas mug with different hot chocolates in it for around $14.00 and I will probably one for each of my kids teachers. It's yummy!

I would get him a gift card to a book store, amazon, or some place to eat. I know gift cards are not really personal, but he would appreciate it. We teachers don't make lots of $$ and a book store card has always been my favorite. You could make some cookies to go with it!
