If you take population difference into consideration, they have probably outperformed their asian neighbours in recent times. They have some decent talent coming through. Tharanga looks exciting. I don't know if Kapugadera's on the scene at the moment but he looked very impressive for a then 18yo in a couple of one dayers in Australia. They've got a couple of quick bowlers coming through too...Malinga can be a handful if he's having a good day. I think that its hard for Sri Lanka because they just don't have the talent pool (a bit like New Zealand) that some of the other more populated countries do. They struggle a bit at test level, but they've been a fine one-day unit for over a decade now. They seem to produce more raw talent than England...

yes the way they played in 1996 w.c. they are the most improved side at that time but the performance of lanka is now going down bcaz jaysurya and murli loosing touch and rantunga and d'silva gone

Actually England is (lol). The English team could not get any worse than they were a few months back so they are the most improving side.

England,SL,NZ & IND in odi's are the only sides improving......

and no srilanka isnt not the most improving side....india is.....

Yes, without doubt. You must have observed how they were humiliated in India in the ODI series recently and how they came back thereafter to beat the best in the game now.
They learn from their mistakes and they ponder over their weaknesses after a loss. Sadly, India never does it.

definitely they are improving side, no doubt about that. Having seen the recent performances, young and talented guys are emerging from the tiny island.
