Here is how my translations work when I type things:
LOL = that was funny
LEGIT LOL = I'm seriously laughing here at my keyboard
OMG WTF LOL = I'm uncontrollably seriously laughing here at my keyboard
STFU = enough said

If I type LOL or LMAO or any of the other similar ones, I am definitely laughing there are some people here that manage to get me laughing all the time!! Sometimes I laugh so hard it hurts!! I love these people!!

Yes I do... But one good laugh is usually intended to be social, so if there's no one around laughs get a bit quieter. There are some things I read here that really make me lmao, but in that case I write just lol.

I use "LOL" only when I am laughing. I use "*giggle*" mainly because I do giggle a lot. I also use "*sigh*" when I actually do or feel as if I could at that moment. I'm not sure about any other expressions mainly because I don't understand the abbreviations yet. I'm still rather a newbie to the Net and haven't caught on to the jargon.

When I write lol, it would be for something I find amusing.
When I write LMAO, it would for something I have actually sat here and laughed at out laud! Then my 4 yr old usually asks me if it's funny and then he starts laughing

Yes I am laughing out loud, but then I laugh out loud a lot. LMAO is laughing hard, and LmFao is when I laugh til I cry.

i type 'lol' a lot, but i dont really laugh out loud, i use answers in the office but i get a big smile :)

roflmao usually means I had to read it out to everyone in earshot and take 5 minutes off to recover !
