When I hear Johnny Cash sing Rose of my Heart - I fall to my knees in a weeping heap - sobbing uncontrollably.

Would HRT help?
Or stick with the gin?

Stick with the booze and have a good cry, there's nothing wrong with a good sob once in a while it's a great stress reliever even if it does make your eyes look a strange shade of crimson afterwards. I've a couple of songs I have a good blub to, think there must be something wrong with me too, I put on the song knowing I'll start filling up the minute the music starts, must be a glutton for punishment like yourself!

I don't fall to my knees (probably couldn't get back up anyway), but when I hear Elvis sing "In The Garden" I get that way. Anyone singing " Amazing Grace" will do the same thing.
Stick with the gin.

It's the gin that's making you sob! "Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole is the one that makes us both cry everytime! It's from the film "Meet Joe Black" and we have the film and the Soundtrack from the film. Everytime we hear the song it reminds us of the film, when we think of the film it reminds us of our dads. Tc's passed over in 1993 and mine passed in1994 only 7 months between them. If you've never seen the film we would highly recommend it because it's got some lovely moments in it and if you need a good sob it's just the ticket!!

Bad memories or bad gin. One of the two. Switch to Jack Daniels. You wont even know who Johnny Cash is.

Yeah, Johnny Cash's singing is certainly something to cry over. I agree it's awful. Try turning off the radio when he comes on. He couldn't carry a tune in a syrup bucket.

Funny, that only happens to me when I hear Ernest Tubb sing about how "our baby is in heaven now". I'd let up on the gin and switch to Irish Coffee, myself. Just a suggestion.

personally id run as far away from the music system as possible but i suppose crying would drown out the sound... stick with the gin musical notes always end up with an acoustic sound when inebriated.

Nothing wrong with you, sometimes I wish I still had a little sip.
Lately I've been thinking a lot about the chorus to Toby Keith's song, 'Love Me If You Can':

'I'm a man of my convictions. Call me wrong, call me right.
But I bring my better angels to every fight.
You may not like where I'm going,
but you sure know where I stand.
Hate me if you want to, love me if you can.'
