with no buildings, no clothes, no technology, no books or libraries... nothing of our great civilizations or understanding but what resides in our memories.

How would things play out?

Would chaos and anarchy ensue, as what-seemed-to-be civilized people attempts to look out for themselves and their kin... destroying natures reserves in the hopes of having a sufficient supply for themselves... while killing and pillaging what others have.

Or would people come together and try to rebuild?

How long would it take to rebuild, do you think? Would we rebuild from our knowledge technology and architecture... and from wisdom our society... or would we rebuild originally as too much time passes to remember, making all the same mistakes?

Might be a good movie

I think that it would definately be a case of dog-eat-dog for a long while with large gangs forming and fighting over territory etc. eventually these territories would become more defined as we started to strive to get back to the days of old. the great thinkers and inventors of today would still be there and most likely would try to initiate simple industry such as farming etc. these industries would(over a long period of time) develop and become more complex leading to a class system of rich, middle class and poor. this would eventually lead back to the authoritarian institutions we know today as governments. so, in other words, i think that society would eventually be built. this is all inevitable because mankind will always attempt to better itself.

that could be the picture of adam and eve, meaning beginning, with the difference that we already would have all this experiences from the past teeling us what to do. To avoid repetition and failure. They could look for leaders everywhere. This could be a time to find what separates animals (in the worst of the terms) from real humans.
This is a question that an expert in building and evolution of societies would answer in an academic way .
Anyway if Moral and ethic reign it would not be a reason to worry. A question with many inherent issues.

Does it matter when we woke up tomorrow in grass fields. Well, if our destinies are such we simply could not change history from happening in the future. If millions or even billions of people have looked to the good earth as dump yard for their pollution, nothing can change this reality, but hope for the worse that we end our lives sooner, rather than suffer in pain and sickness from the effect of contaminations.

Not to mention we are warmongers over issues that seem ridiculous. Consider the fact we are most adaptable of specimen, an irony we could be extinct due to our foolhardiness

My vote for 10 points to Gabriel for 'moral & ethics' line. I nominate him for the special advisor to the Bush Administration.
