When did your computer shut off? Is it when you left it idling or is it when you are watching videos or when you are playing game? You need to further explain in order for us to troubleshoot.
As for the automatic switch on, you might want to go into the BIOS and look for the auto wake-up function. I suspect that a few options must have been ticked. E.g. Wake up on LAN.
