how can i cut a smooth arch in a long piece of wood?

i cant seem to get the cut as perfect in a arch as well as a strait cut. what tools can i get to help?

first you need the mathematical formula for the arch once you get it you need to find the radis and either use a radis marker or do what I do and tie a string around a marker and tie the other end to a stick or a pole driven at the radis and with the string held tight follow it around then use a jigsaw or a bandsaw to cut it out then take a file to it unless you have a fileband then put it on the bandsaw.
