It was in the Middle of the show, pretty sure it is Nickelback that sings it, can't find the song though, anyone know it?

You're almost right. It was Santana with Chad Kroeger and it's called "Into the Night" from the "Ultimate Santana" album and is also available as a single on iTunes. Search "Into the Night".
