I agree with you. With a combination of both, it will make you laugh when it's silly and when it's serious, you can help people out. That's what Yahoo! Answers is for anyway.

I only answer the questions that half way make sense. Sometimes I have to skip them because they don't make any sense to me. I don't know if it is because I am "out of date" (meaning have gotten over the hill, age wise) and have no idea what they are talking about or whether they are not aware of what they mean, either or not. :o) Also, sometimes I don't answer if the question is one that has a lot of survey type answers to choose from as I don't like those very much. I also don't care for questions that are 3 and 4 paragraphs long or even longer. I also dislike questions such as: "Do you like the color of my hair?" or "Am I pretty?" I think those are fairly lame questions or just questions fishing for compliments as though the person asking the questions are very immature. I prefer questions that make you think some, such as the one you have just asked here. :o)

I, in my view, do no longer care in the event that they have an avatar or no longer. a good question merits an answer and a good answer merits credit the place credit is due. Now, on the different hand, i will say that i might like it if that they had some thing to kinda supply a character to the question or answer.

There is not one "silly" question or answer in my Q&A history. I'd just rather not answer silly and I am pretty good finding information using search engines so I don't ask much.

I prefer serious questions.

I try to answer some of each....I am sure I sometimes find something silly in the serious questions....and I know I sometimes find something serious in the silly ones!

Which category does this one fit into?

I answer both silly and serious. If I thin I can answer on the serious one, I will. It may be the help the person needs.

Silly ones sometimes are good to get to know people and the general feel of the Y!A community and have fun. It lets people know you are not anal.
