When feminists fight for abortion for women, it's clear they want women to be in control of their own lives.

When feminists fight against men legally opting out of parenthood, it's clear they want men to have limited control over their own lives.

Feminists fight FOR reproductive rights for women & AGAINST reproductive rights for men.

(If you try the "well it's for the child" angle here, I may point to the fact that aborting the child isn't exactly a fun-filled party for the child either.)

Feminists insist that women should be considered every bit as tough as a man & be recruited for police/firefighting squads without regard to their biology.

Feminists also insist that women need to be protected from sexual words uttered by men in the workplace because women aren't able to handle these things.

Women can take down a perp or hack through a burning door with an axe just like a man, but a joke of a slightly sexual nature at work will make women crumble like overcooked cheesecake.

Have the " third wave" feminists actively & publicly denounced the "second wave" feminists & their anti-male hypocritical ways?

Have the " third wave" feminists turned down the special perks that the "second wave" feminists secured?

No? ...Well then maybe it's your own "facts" that need checking.

Sexual harassment laws have been expanded to an absurd level. This is not about legitimate harassment anymore.

Physical tests for the police/military/firefighting squads are watered down for women.

Wow! You're the first unsympathetic woman to dismiss men's rights issues with such ice-cold nonchalance.

Next time maybe you can throw in the word "whiner" for good measure.

Because as we all know... white men don't have feelings & don't deserve to be treated with respect.

(sarcasm intended)

The point of not using disgusting/offensive language has nothing to do with "a women not being able to handle such things", it has to do with the fact they they shouldn't be forced to listen to such things. They should have the right to take action if something is making them uncomfortable the exact same way anyone else would be able to take action in a different workplace scenario.

As for the police/firefighter thing. Don't both of these institutions have physical tests you have to pass? If a women can pass the test, then more power to her. You have no right to say she is any less capable of doing her job than a man. The standards shouldn't be changed for women, you can either do the job or you can't.

And as for your first point, I do not know the exact law about aborting a child. In places where its legal, does the father of the child also have to consent? If so, then the mother should also have to consent to the father 'legally opting out' of parenthood. If that is not the case and dads have no choice, then I guess I kind of agree with your point.

Added after your More Info:

Men have the exact same right to file a sexual harrasment suit against a women or another man. The fact that they don't file these suits as often has absolutely nothing to do with 'feminists'.

And when you can show proof that they 'water down' physical standards for women, then you can use that as a valid point.

Anyone who claimes to be a feminist-NOT one who merely agrees with their philosophy-but a real feminists, is a social aberation. Mostly void of any understanding of her role as a female in the grand scheme of things.

I am a man. Can't change it and society will NOT permit me to avoid that expectation that they have of a man. SO! I am "stuck" in this role, like it or not.

But HOW silly would I look trying to push my way into the conclave of the sisterhood of women. YES! Women have HAD and still do posess certain societal protections just because they are women. This is the luck of the draw.

Suppose I were to take the "I want equality consistant with a women" attitude? Would society let ME opt out of war in the event of a draft? Would they let me tell the judge "I will be having a headache the week of that capital murder trial so count me out", or let me on the lifeboat before the women?

I don't think so.

So, NO, I do not think they (true feminist) do understand the hypocrisy of their demands/positions.

I agree with you about the sexual harassment laws. They are absurd and they don't even stop the men inclined to harass women. They just scare the crap out of basically good men who would treat us decently anyway.

As for the right to control one's life. perhaps we should do away with the compulsion on men to support children, which I believe many try to shirk anyway. Though you must acknowledge there is a little more at stake for the woman than whether or not she will be a parent. There are also reproductive health issues inherent in becoming an incubator for nine months.

And yes. Privileges of the past do still exist. Before the women's movement they were the only power and recourse we had. Now that our rights have been on the increase, it is probably time to say goodbye to them. Still, is it really all that surprising that we would choose to hang on to whatever power we have, old and new? After all, we're only human.

We don't fight against men opting out of parenthood. We support condom use, after all.

There are women who are able-bodied enough to be police officers and firefighters. No gender should be barred from anything. Hiring should be done on a purely individual basis.

Sexuality does not belong in the workplace, unless you're a model, actress, porn star, stripper, or prostitute. Any fool should know this.

I agree someone stating all those things would be a hypocrite. I believe in my right to abortion and your right to a legal "abortion". I believe in my right to be recruited for police etc and I listen to and laugh at jokes "of a slightly sexual nature" at work. I also have co workers hitting on me at work and I've never filed sexual harrassment claims against them.

I think your question takes for granted that the same women who say yes to the right to choose are saying no to your right to choose. I don't think thats necessarily true.

They know it is hypocritical but are only vaguely aware when they act in accordance with those hypocritical beliefs because nobody stops them. Hypocrisy like this is proof that feminism is a feminist advocacy movement that does not stop at equality but runs right over equal rights.

People need to keep talking about this and raising awareness.

There is a problem in your premise:

(a) When feminists fight for abortion for women, it's clear they want women to be in control of their own lives.

(b) When feminists fight against men legally opting out of parenthood, it's clear they want men to have limited control over their own lives.

Part (a) is accurate, part (b) is not precisely right.
Most of the feminist arguments offer men control at the point of intercourse, but after the sex act is completed, the woman has full control of any potential outcome - after all, it is her body that is affected by pregnancy, not his.
Some feminists support a "paper abortion" for men, or some legal opt-out procedure. The details of these proposals vary, but the intention is to give men control post-conception.
How is that hypocrisy?

ETA: A thumbs down does not answer my question. Please explain.

feminism makes me laugh...

Remember, these are 'strong, independant women' - but when Larry Summers "...there MAY be biological differences why women & men are represented differently in sciences & maths" - one feminist was so 'strong & independant" she "...nearly fainted & felt physically sick"

Now THAT is funny...

Then you have feminists complaining that stereotyping is a bad, bad thing - but all men are pigs & abusive.

Let's not forget, fireman & policeman are sexist terms (though I've repeatedly explained WHY that is not the case - see my answers history for further info) but it's ok to have VAWA specifying Women only... screw the men.

Yeah, the list of hypocrisies go on and on and ariston..

They do, but they keep on doing it.

Feminist aren't equalist, they would rather see the entire male sex die off than giving up traditional female privileges. They don't want equality alone, they want special benefit too. If you gives the baby her bottle too many times, she's going to become spoil. The feminist is without a doubt the most spoil demographic in the West.

Third wave, fifth way, tenth wave, I really don't give crap. If feminist truly is about "equality" like they claim to be, then they need to prove it with action rather than running their mouth about 'equality".

Yes, but they want all the power at the expense of men in the process, by disadvantaging and oppressing them for their own selfish needs.

EDIT:

So far, I haven't seen any rebuttals yet from the feminists. Surprise, surprise. At best, all they can do is 'thumbs down' people like me, when they speak the truth.
