I'm a 23 year old asian female that is not athletic and is on a "loose" macrobiotic diet (i induldge in beef 2x a month and ice cream). I do light jogging on a tredmill 3-6 times a month for 30-45 mins. I have a resting pulse rate of 57bpm. I'm a bit concerned because I haven't been able to sleep well. Like I lie awake in bed at night staring at the ceiling. I check my pulse to make sure I'm not just anxious but I can't figure it out. Anyway are there any cons to have a 57 bpm? I know the pros.

Your pulse is very good and is actually better than the normal from 60 to 80 so there is nothing to worry about on that issue.

Your sleeping problem could be due to stress and many other possible reasons.

Well, a resting pulse rate of 57 bpm is pretty good. Normal is 60-80, but at your age in your health, it's okay to have a 57 pulse rate. That would have nothing to do with not being able to sleep.

sounds good, as long as you don't have any heart problems it sounds normal. Keep up the jogging! Lance Armstrong has a resting pulse of 45bpm
