It's not important. They're just convenient party banners to gather under. If we generally knew more about politics, votes would be distributed to more parties. You can choose any party you want, or no party at all.

Also It's very important to understand the labels that people use in this election, because many of them are deliberately misused in the course of a campaign to cause voters to react against the other party - that's why campaigns can get so negative.

If you know the terms really well, the negativity of the campaign season becomes less stressful.

You know I am a registered Republican. But I would vote for someone of any party who will
1. Immediately Secure the Borders
2. At the same time cut off handouts to illegals.
3. Begin Mass Deportation
4. Build the fence
5. Repeal NAFTA
6. Pull out of the UN and cut our funding
7. Shut down the creation of the NAU
8. Truly have the American people's best interest at heart
9. Solve the Social Security problem without socializing medicine.
10. Come up with a way to get out of Iraq without leaving too big a mess.

If someone will do those things...... they have my vote I don't care what party they belong to.

Political views are important. Being a democrat or a republican in politics is like being a male or female in life. Most people can come to a conclusion pretty easily, others have difficulty. Even within a gender you find a lot of variety though.

In Mississippi we have to vote by party. We can't vote strictly on qualification. All candidates for any office we vote for must be of the same party affiliation. That's why MS has so many unqualified people in office. We have to guess which party has the most people we'd like to see in office. So for us, it's a pretty big deal.

The Democrats and Republicans are controlling American politics. Thus, you have to choose which between the two in order to actively participate in the elections.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know whether a Republican or Democrat will likely win.

We vote by secret ballot. You are the only one who knows how you voted.

Choosing to join a political party is not a serious life decision. Ask Rudy Giuliani, former Democrat who is now the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.

No. Absolutely not. The most uninformed voters are the ones who vote along party lines. Give yourself the opportunity to view each candidate on an individual basis, not because of the letter next to their names.

>It's a need to keeps ones little robots in order. Not all that serious for an Independent Voter (the kind that actually think for themselves), who dislike "Robot's Rules of Order."<

Many of us do not, and are registered, Independent voters...myself included. I vote for people, bills and issues...not down a party line.
